As of January 2011, flu season is picking up. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report released Thursday says four of the states with rising flu cases were in the South and Virginia was on that list.
The CDC report also says that tests of about 120 virus samples show the circulating flu strains seem to be well-matched to this season's flu vaccine. That's good news to those who take steps to prevent the flu by getting a flu shot.
